A: Certifications like A+, Network+, or Security+ are valuable, but a degree offers broader skills, can
support career growth, and may qualify for federal financial aid. NAU’s IT program includes certification
preparation as part of the curriculum.

Q: Where is my activation code?

A: Codes are emailed by the NAU bookstore after registration. Check spam/junk folders. If missing,
contact student services – studentservicesteam@national.edu.

Q: How do I activate my account and course materials?

A: First create your account with the certification provider (TestOut, CompTIA, etc.), then use your
activation code to unlock materials.

Q: Do I need to complete all assigned sections?

A: You’re assigned prep materials, such as content pages, videos, and interactive assessments, that are
not graded but strongly recommended, as they are designed to help you perform better on graded
items, such as labs, lesson reviews, and exams.

Q: Why is my grade not showing after completing work?

A: Late submissions may not sync automatically. Notify your instructor so they can update grades if
allowed.

Q: My scores aren’t showing, but I’ve done the work. Why?

A: You may be in the wrong course section. Work in unassigned sections will not count toward your grade.

Q: Can I retake a certification exam?

A: If your course includes a voucher, it covers only the first attempt. Retakes must be purchased directly
from the certification provider.

Q: Do I automatically earn the certification when I pass the course?

A: No. You must register for and pass the external exam to earn the certification.

Q: Are certification exams included in tuition?

A: Some courses include prep resources in tuition. Exam fees are usually separate and set by the provider.
Voucher availability is limited.

Q: Will a certification guarantee me a job?

A: Certifications can strengthen your résumé but do not guarantee employment or salary. Results depend
